Reflecting on The 2022 RAD Awards
Published on April 8th, 2022
Wednesday evening saw us heading back to the Grosvenor for the first time since 2020, for none other than the 2022 RAD Awards. Reunited with friendly faces and with the hilarious Tom Allen as our host – topped off with 2 award wins, it’s fair to say it didn’t disappoint. So let’s talk a little more about those wins.
Starting of the night was the Candidate Experience award, which delivered our first gong of the evening for our work with the Royal British Legion (RBL). Known for supporting the British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, and the Poppy Appeal, RBL are a well-known charity – but they’re not quite so well known for their role as an employer. Something that was making recruiting the right kind of talent a tricky task for them. They needed to build a brand that would champion what they do, why they do it and make it clear to prospective talent that a career at the Legion could be an impactful, enjoyable, and endlessly rewarding one. So, we built them a powerful Employer Value Proposition (EVP): Every Street Has a Story. And then we overhauled their careers site, social strategy, and application process to bring that EVP to life.
Next up, it was our work with Mars that brought home the gold in the Events and Experiential category. Their challenge was that US students knew M&Ms, Snickers, and Skittles – but they didn’t know Mars. Which meant getting them excited about their early talent offering was proving quite tricky. Luckily, we had a solid virtual strategy and a big idea that would change that. Through ‘The Vault of Secrets’, we engaged students in an immersive, gamified virtual experience that would show them why they should apply for a Mars internship and how to go about doing it. From wacky green screen backgrounds and top tips to a larger-than-life host and giant products, our semi-live approach brought the Mars magic to them – with zero technical hiccups and seriously impressive results.
A huge congratulations to both clients – and of course, a big thank you for trusting us. And to our other nominated clients – Axa, IHG and Maersk, congratulations to you too. The work might not have brought home trophies on this occasion, but we’re all still super-proud that they were in the running. Here’s to more future success!
